M.C. Rips Cagneys 31-3

BISHOP FIELD, NQ- The McInnis Carpentry Softball Club won big against a depleted Cagney's team 31-3 to move to 4-0 in Houghs Neck League action tonight.

Cagney's began the game with eight players. By the time the ninth showed up an insurmountable lead had been built. The Hammers, debuting their new Orange alternate uniforms, plated 7 in the second and had a 25-0 lead after four innings. The Hammers have outscored their opponents 82-32 this season.

"We're swinging the bats real well," said outfielder John Southern. "This team can flat out hit. You don't really get a break in this lineup. Our 5,6 and 7 hitters could easily bat 1,2 and 3 on most teams."

Greg Harper went 5 for 5 to raise his batting average to a blistering .718. John Martin went 3 for 3 while Bill Wysocki banged out four hits and Tom Fratolillo went 2 for 2 with a grand slam and five RBI.

Steve McInnis pitched 5 innings of shut-out ball to improve to 2-0 and lead his team to its second run-ruled shortened game of the year.

NOTES:

Steve Yocco served a one game suspension for being ejected in last weeks game against the Half Door... Tom Fratolillo matched a career game high with 5 RBI... Greg Harper's hitting streak continues at 21... the team record for runs in a game is 44. Scored against Mauri Electric in 2002... the teams win is their 85th in regular season play... Chris Smith reported no ill effects with his knee after going 1 for 2 from the plate.
