Carpentry Wins Big Again, 21-3

LaBRECQUE FIELD, HOUGHS NECK - The McInnis Carpentry softball club continued to roll by pounding out 21 runs through 4 innings of play against the Aikens Club on Wednesday night.

Batting seventh, eighth and ninth, Sal Buonopane, Mark Free and Tom Fratolillo combined to go 9-9 with two doubles, two triples, 6 RBI's and eight runs scored. Greg Harper went 4-5 with four runs scored while Steve Yocco went 1-1 with two walks. Yocco and Fratolillo have yet too make outs in the young 2009 season.

John Gray went 2-3 while Mike Palmer cranked out three hits in four at bats. Mike Berry went 1-2 with 2 RBI's in his second straight start behind the plate.

Despite missing several players the Hammers played well on both sides of the ball to improve to 2-0.

Hammers Rip Beachcomber 27-14 In Opener

BISHOP FIELD, NORTH QUINCY - The McInnis Carpentry softball club ran their opening day record to 8-0 since the 2002 Manet/Hofbrau merger. The Hammers raced out to an early 12-2 lead after two innings but found themselves in close game as the Beachcomber cut the lead down to 5 after four innings.

Behind perfect nights from the plate by Steve Yocco (2-2, 3 BB, 4 runs), Steve McInnis (4-4, BB 2 RBI) and Tom Fratolillo (3-3, 3 Runs) the Black & Orange pulled away by scoring 13 runs in their final two at bats.

Jimmy Dennis had a big 7 rbi night while John Gray went 4-5 with a pair of triples. Glenn Bosse and Mike Palmer both slugged home runs in their debut with the carpenters.

2009 Boston-South Shore League



The McInnis Carpentry softball club will open up the 2009 season on the road against the Beachcomber.

The Hammers look to have another successful season as they have won 15 or more games six time in seven years, never finishing lower than third in the standings. Almost all starters are returning and the team has added several veteran players to their experienced roster.

Man of Leisure Lives!


As first reported on the McInnis Blog back in March of '07, Germantown's favorite son Ben Radcliffe has been traveling the world in search of his drinking limit.

He has yet to find it and at this point probably never will.

Thought by many to have succumbed to the numerous perils that face a blond-haired blue-eyed American living in a communist nation of over 1 billion. . . "The Man" has re-appeared.

2009 Warm-Up


The McInnis Carpentry Softball Club will be tuning up for the '09 season with a pre-season tournament on April 18th & 19th.

The tournament is being organized by longtime Neck League veteran Jeff Sheehan. This is a great opportunity to take your squad out for a little road test, and it's for a good cause. Call soon as spots are filling up!
